Ideal Fairy Tales - Spread 1 by LauraTringaliHolmes Ideal Fairy Tales - Spread 1 by LauraTringaliHolmes
First spread completed. The text snips come from the pages that I cut out from the book when preparing it for altering. Imagine my surprise when they rearranged themselves into a whole new story!
The caption under the illustration at bottom right says "Their feet were much too large." I know it is difficult to see. Sorry!

The next spread is Sleeping Beauty. Onward to :iconhogret:!

You can monitor progress on the book at the Daughters of a Dog altered book group here: [link]

Aaah, what a beautiful spread! :)
All this texture looks absolutely delicious. And magical!
I like the new story made with old words..I've been experimenting with word rearrangement myself the past couple weeks [for the damn RISD sketchbook..deadline is killing meeeeeeeee]. I see gender rolls and pressure from society here. It's hard to be a perfect princess like Cinderella.
The dark moon lady interests me. What is her roll in this little tale?

Daughters of the Dog is looking great! :)

The moon lady is sprinkling gems of wisdom. Literally. A real pain, as each little non-adhesive-backed gem resisted sticking, or tried to stick upside down. Her role is to derail those who strive for perfection.
Glad you're working hard to deadline!

Wonderful. I like the moon-rider sprinkling the beads. Big feet! ha!

Those beads are non-adhesive so I had to glue them on one at a time. Just so ya know the troubles I've seen!

Spotted them right away, I used to make beaded ear-rings. That's when my eyes started giving up. Lift that barge, tote that bail, glue that bead. lol.
