From the past, but not dimly, or regretfully. So bright and positive.

Thanks. And a reminder (to me) that there are better things to be than a Blind Perfectionist!

little islands of thought now form
around lost concepts, and yet reborn
given life by present hands,
from the whispers of yesterday

We can run, but we sure can't hide. It all has to be dealt with now or later, I'm finding....

Hey, I see Worcester/Springfield Mass on there.. are you local? I very recently moved from just north of Boston but lived there my whole life. Nice collage :)

Sort of local in that it's the right coast--but I'm down the road a few states, in New York. I lucked upon some sales receipts from that area (including some old checkbooks), and this is one of them. One of the things I love about old paper is that it can take us back to our roots. Much better in a collage than in a landfill! Glad you enjoyed the piece, thanks!

Oh, yes, okay, didn't understand. What you're looking at are the images emerging from the background into the foreground. The way décollage works is that the images you want to use get glued on first, and then they're covered with other stuff, in this case a variety of old papers (the old receipt, the music score, etc.,) to build a conceptual background. When you rub off selective parts of the papers on top, the primary images reappear through them. The images in this piece that are immediately identifiable are the eggs, a bee, and the words "blind" and "erfectionist." This is probably more than you wanted to know...hope it makes sense!
